The Cute Lepers

I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m truly loving the DIY/vinyl/garage roots movement that’s pulsating through the underground right now. For me, it keeps the music honest, it keeps the scene honest and most importantly, it keeps all of us honest.

The Cute Lepers are no strangers to keeping it ‘real.’ The 6-piece power pop group hails from Seattle and they have been at it since 2007. The band was originally formed as a side project (of sorts) when The Briefs (the former band lead singer, Steve E. Nicks) went on indefinite hiatus. Not knowing exactly how long they would be a band, whether or not The Briefs would ever get back together or how long they wanted to do it even if they could, The Cute Lepers adopted an increasingly popular method of musical release: vinyl.

To date, the band only has one full-length release, Can’t Stand Modern Music, which contains many songs featured across their 7 vinyl-only releases. If you’re a fan of raw, raucous, DIY power pop then check out The Cute Lepers; good music with good intentions.
