Vegas has been known for pumping out such hit makers as Panic! At the Disco, The Killers and The Cab to name a few. The Higher, this month's Xpoz band, is the next Sin City export to tear up both the national and international stages.

It all started in high school, when two of the current The Higher member...

Nearly a month ago, Imagine Dragons were sharing the same screaming crowd with such mega artists as Blue October and Uncle Kracker; just one more amazing performance to add to their already impressive repertoire of concerts.

What started out, a few years back,...

Music evolves on a daily basis and as such, so do bands and their members. This is what happened with the Xpoz band Val Halla  when Taylor, their bassist, decided to begin a new project with George, Nick and Andrew. Already having a wealth of experience behind them, the new project took off like wildfire.

Music is a big business and making it big as a band requires some real business savvy thinking. For the members of Damnear Divine, music is fun, creative, and entertaining but it's also a serious endeavor. Realizing this, is what makes the band a force to be reckoned with.

Air Raid Anthem

Some bands just dont get it. They practice for a couple weeks, write a few songs and start booking shows right off the bat. In reality, the number of bands who have struck gold right after forming is few and far between. Success takes work and nobody knows that better than Air Raid Anthem who have been at it for 2 years.

The original members Courtney, Justin and Spencer started this p...

Fearless Fearless

The true measure of a bands ability to transcend the genre gap can be determined by their following. Attend a Fearless Fearless show and youll notice that genres and cliques cease to exist. The reason why is simple: Fearless Fearless doesnt allow themselves to be categorized because their sound and presence is too complex and diverse to lump into category.

After a band break up, Ryun...

The Stript

There are bands that sound great on albums, bands that sound great in person, and then there are those who sound great no matter how you hear them. Its these bands that get first time viewers bobbing their heads and tapping their feet and gives first time listeners some new tunes to be suck in their heads for days.

The Stript started their musical journey back in October of 2006 with br...

Live VIA Sky

Although Las Vegas has undoubtedly earned the title of Entertainment Capital of the World, many pass it over as hot spot to find musical talent and the next big thing. The band Live VIA Sky is an example of why that way of thinking is misguided.

Most of the bands members have been in previous bands before their paths crossed a little over a year ago. Maddox, Chris and Biscoe were in...

Passion, talent, and drive are the essential ingredients that go into a successful band. The hot local band Lips Like Morphine is one that has the key ingredients for success. They were first established 2 years ago with brothers Charles and Ahmad. Charles lived in Las Vegas, and tried to convince Ahmad to move here from New York. After a few debates, Ahmad made the move; something that led...

Theory of Flight
Thursday, 5 February 2009

Although bands come and go, there are few new bands that believe their music is so powerful it can create a movement much less inspire a generation. In Las Vegas alone there are many bands that aspire to such a goal. However the difference between aspiring to it and actually living it is all the difference.

Theory of Flight is a band that achieves their goals. Coming together a ye...

Verbatym
Thursday, 5 February 2009

When a person refers to something being "verbatim" they mean it was the exact same, word-for-word, a copy of the original. That wasn't enough for Jovan, Nik, and Russ, the three talented musicians making up the band Verbatym. Yes, with a "y," it represents more than a spin on the original word. To the band, it is a symbol of being different.

Their goal is t...

The Murder Ballad

One of the bands that created the most buzz at this year's Shredfest was undoubtedly The Murder Ballad. Their heavy but pop metal sounds resonated at the Henderson pavilion, with an amazing set and a high energy performance.

Death At A Funeral
Thursday, 5 February 2009

XPOZ has always been about supporting local upcoming bands that have a good following and support what we're all about. With that said, there is a band that has been XPOZ fanatics since they came together about 5 months ago, Death at a Funeral.

It all started with Dylan, the drummer, wanting to get a band together for the past 2 years. One by one he asked people he thought ...

Eyes Like Diamonds
Thursday, 5 February 2009

Originally named A Dying Fate, Eyes Like Diamonds have evolved into the polished band many have seen at this past year's Extreme Thing.

The original band, A Dying Fate, came together in 2005 as a metal band. They eventually outgrew that sound and started to develop more of a feel for other genres. They modified their band and brought in a couple new members, Diego and Danie...

Love It Or Leave It
Thursday, 5 February 2009

If this were a perfect world, every band that has an amazing amount of talent, an astonishing passion for the art of music, and the heart to face any challenge head on, would be signed and walking down the famous red carpet at some award show. However, this is not a perfect world and there are a lot of obstacles for many bands across the nation, especially here in our very own Las Vegas. T...

Away We Go!
Thursday, 5 February 2009

If speed is everything, there is one band that has proven themselves as a front runner. Having come together in November of 2007, they have already caused enough commotion in the Las Vegas scene; the ripples of which have been felt throughout the country, much less the globe. A true testament of their reach is on their Myspace page. Only added a week ago, the band put a map that logs the...

Val-Halla
Thursday, 5 February 2009

Since their big break at this year's Extreme Thing, the fan base of Val-Halla has more than doubled. Beginning about two and a half years ago, Tyler and Jake met in music class. Having learned the guitar they had a common ground and chose to start playing together. In came Andrew, the drummer. The combination of the three musicians was remarkable and they decided to start a band. Fast ...
