DETAILS
Clark County Parks & Recreation along with XPOZ are looking to give 8 local bands a chance to play live at the biggest sports & music festival in Las Vegas – The “Extreme Thing.” The Battle of the Fans contest has become very popular in the local music scene. Each year over 100+ bands enter to compete for the highly-coveted prize of performing at the Extreme Thing. We are now offering 8 bands the opportunity of a lifetime by giving them a chance to play live in front of thousands of fans on the XPOZ stage. The contest can be intense and requires 100% of your bands dedication and must remain “DRAMA” free!

RULES/ REGULATIONS
– All bands members must live in Southern Nevada. This includes City of Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, Pahrump, Laughlin and Mesquite. No out of state bands will qualify.
– Bands members must be between the ages of 13-30 years old.
– Band agrees to event structure outlined below.
– Band members are not allowed to smoke at any of the preliminary shows, at the Extreme Thing or on Social Media during this contest period.
– Extreme Thing and XPOZ reserves the right to disqualify any band at any time throughout the duration of contest.
– Extreme Thing and XPOZ reserves the right to modify or change rules at any time to benefit the contest promotion.

Dec 4                    Announce Promotion
Dec 30                  3pm close registration
Jan 4                     Open mobile app voting at 3:00pm (Voting for Preliminary Round begins)
Jan 15                    Voting ends at 3:00pm.
Jan 15                    Announce Preliminary participants (Top 28 bands/performers, plus 6 wildcard acts)
Jan 18                    Mandatory Band Meeting for Preliminary participants (Top 28 bands/performers, plus 6 wildcard acts) to go over rules and regs and pick up tickets from Vegas Indoor Skydiving at 200 Convention Center Drive at 5:00pm.
Jan 18                    Voting begins via mobile app for preliminaries
Jan 28                   Final day to submit video entries. Submit by 3:00PM.
Jan 29 & 31           Eagle Hall Preliminary concerts
Feb 5-6                 Eagle Hall Preliminary concerts
Feb 8                    Semi-Final Voting begins via Extreme Thing mobile app (Voting for Semifinal/Top 14, plus 3 wild card acts)
Feb 25                  Mobile App voting closes
Feb 26-27             Finals at Hard Rock Hotel inside Vinyl (Top 14 bands, plus 3 wild card) 8 winners selected
Feb 29                  Announce final 8 winners selected to perform at Extreme Thing, update all promotional assets

BONUS VIDEO
Bands who complete and submit video to XPOZ will receive a total of 250 bonus points which will be applied to their preliminaries total. Then if the bands move forward to the semi-final round an additional 250 bonus points will be added to their semi-finals total. Deadline for video submissions must be received no later than January 28, 2016 by 4pm.

Guidelines for “BONUS” XPOZ Video
Must be a minimum of 30 seconds long and a maximum of 5 minutes.
Must hit 250 views on the XPOZ YouTube channel. In order to qualify to semi-finals and online voting Must include all band members.
Must include your band name.
Must include the following:

PRELIMINARIES
Mobile App Voting (text ExtremeThing to 41411, standard text fees may apply)
– each online mobile app vote is worth 1 point
– voting is limited to 1 vote per verified IP, duplicates names or emails will not be counted – there will be two rounds of mobile app voting for prelims and semi finals

Ballot Voting
– only 1 ballot per paid ticket per person allowed (if you buy 10 tix you don’t get 10 ballots, only 1 per person) – each on site ballot is worth 5pts
– this is in addition to the online voting

Ticket Sales
– 30 advance tickets per band must be sold to qualify for “Preliminary Round” ballot voting on site

Bonus Structure
– 50 points for selling all 30 tickets
– 100 points for top vote getter (each night)
– 250 points for bands who submitted their XPOZ intro video

Preliminary Winners
– top 14 overall point earners advance to Finals at Vinyl (Plus 6 Wild Card bands will also advance to Finals) – ticket pick up will be available beginning Feb 8

SEMI-FINALS
Mobile App Voting (text ExtremeThing to 41411, standard text fees may apply)
– point start at zero for all semi-final bands
– each online mobile app vote is worth 1 point
– voting is limited to 1 vote per verified IP, duplicates names or emails will not be counted

Ballot Voting
– only 1 ballot per paid ticket per person allowed (if you buy 10 tix you don’t get 10 ballots, only 1 per person) – each on site ballot is worth 5pts
– this is in addition to the online voting

Judges Pick
– 1 winner per night automatically advance to top 8 for Extreme Thing slot
– 3 judges per night will consist of music industry professionals i.e.: producers, labels, managers, or talent buyers

Bonus Structure
Final bonus – 250 point bonus for 50 ticket minimum
Final bonus – 250 for bands who submitted their XPOZ intro video
Final bonus – top ticket seller each night gets an additional 250 point bonus

Final Winners
Top 6 overall point earners will advance to Extreme Thing 2 judges picks advance to Extreme Thing (1 per night)

WILD CARD BAND PROMOTION
A total of 6-bands will be selected as Wild Card/replacement bands (in addition to the initial selection of bands) in case any of the selected bands cancel on this promotion last minute for all preliminaries, the Wild Card Band will be able to play if the minimum requirements were met. These bands still qualify for onsite voting, though they may not be able to play. If these bands meet their ticket obligation, and no cancellations occur, they will receive a 250-point bonus. This way Wild Card Bands are still in the running for a spot to play Extreme Thing 2016. The top 3 wild card bands advance to the finals and all same above rules apply.

VENUE – PRODUCTION RULES
All bands must agree to use professionally provided backline consisting of the following (for semi-finals only)
– guitar cabs, bass cabs, drum kit (must use own cymbals and snare, pedals ok)
– you can use provide your own heads or keyboards
